Testimony

I am a 47 year old guy now, but when I was 36, my life changed in a most amazing way by becoming a follower of Jesus Christ.

I was raised in a home that believed in the truth of the Bible, but we really didn't go to church. I was somewhat aware of who Jesus is, but honestly, I just didn't really care a whole lot.

By the time I was 36, I was confronted with how sinful I really am. God showed me through His Holy Spirit that even though I thought I was a good person, the truth showed I really wasn't. I finally realized that sin isn't just stealing and murder, but sin is anything that we do that falls short of God's Holy perfection. I was storing up a huge pile of sins with no plan of how I would stand before The Holy God and explain what I had done in my life. The truth is that I was storing up God's wrath that would eventually be paid back to me… it was very sobering.

That's when everything changed, that's when I truly realized the Bible is absolute truth and that my only hope was to embrace the perfect, sin-erasing sacrifice of Jesus Christ and to surrender my life to His Lordship. Please note: there is a huge difference between just knowing who Jesus is and really trusting in Him for everything… following Him with your whole heart.

In Matthew 16:25 and 26, Jesus said "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."

My testimony to you is that since I have been following Jesus, everything in my life has changed. I still have hardship and difficulties, but I also have the amazing peace and joy that comes from being a child of God to get me through it all.

Serving the only true and living God (Father, Son and Spirit) is the most awesome experience that a human being can have. Best of all is that it will end by actually beginning an eternal relationship in Heaven! I pray that you will consider your relationship with Jesus, and I encourage you to give Him all of your life... Now!
